Acqua Al 2 Celebrity Dinner Benefiting
the Adrian and Betsy Gonzalez Foundation:
Last year, Adrian and Betsy Gonzalez launched their family foundation – The Adrian & Betsy Gonzalez Foundation – with a celebrity dinner at Acqua Al 2, San Diego’s favorite downtown Italian restaurant. San Diego Padres players took over the Acqua Al 2 restaurant, becoming chefs, waiters and bartenders the special evening. Adrian Gonzalez and Heath Bell prepared a five course dinner which was served to the guests by Kevin Kouzmanoff, Adrian’s brother Edgar Gonzalez, Nick Hundley and Clay Hensley to name a few, while the Padres bullpen tended the bar.
Proceeds from the dinner and live and silent auctions benefited The Adrian & Betsy Gonzalez Foundation which donated the money from the evening to a children’s Autism research and care charity, a cause that is close to the family of Acqua Al 2 owner/chef, Martin Gonzalez.
Martin Gonzalez also prepares post game meals for the team every home stand. The Acqua Al 2 Celebrity Dinner is an annual party thrown with the help of San Diego Padres players every August to celebrate Acqua Al 2’s anniversary.
